Project Explorer Options

Use Options > Project Explorer dialog to configure a various Project Explorer features in addition to layout customizing procedures described previously. Use Names tab to configure file, group or folder name appearance in Project Explorer, along with project alias setting. Manager tab brings up ways to configure default groups display, project path highlighting in Explorer View, and so on.

Using this dialog you can set:

Project alias name

Alias, descriptive project name.

File > Folder name display as (default: Alias name (File/Folder name))

Using this option you set the form of folder or file name display in Folder and Explorer View. The following options are offered:

File/Folder name - displays only file / folder name.

Alias name - only the file / folder alias is displayed. If the alias has not been defined, only file / folder name is displayed.

File/Folder name (Alias name) file / folder name is displayed and in parentheses file / folder alias. If an alias has not been defined, only file / folder name is displayed.

Alias name (File/Folder name) displays file / folder alias and in parentheses the file / folder name. If an alias has not been defined, only file /folder name is displayed.

File/Folder name (Make options) displays file / folder name and in parentheses make options if they are defined.

Alias name (Make options) displays file / folder alias and in parentheses make options if they are defined. If an alias has not been defined, only file / folder name is displayed.

Allow all uppercase names

Standard Windows option, names of files and directories are presented with all letters except the initial letter in the name in lower case, the initial letter is identical as in the original name. If you set this option, file and directory names will be displayed in their original form.

Sort file names by extension

If you set this option, file display will initially be sorted according to extension. Otherwise, files will initially be sorted by name. The term initially encompasses creating a new project or opening an existing project with no saved settings from previous sessions.

Show hidden files and folders

If this option is unchecked (default), hidden files and folders are not shown in Explorer View and Folder View. They are not added to project, also.

Restores default settings.

Manager

The dialog offers the following options:

Mark project path

If the option is set, the path to files belonging to the project is marked by green icons for directories in the Browser of Explorer View.

Show VCS file state

By setting this option, file state in relation to the VCS is marked by icons in Logical View.

Show file name only

If this option is set, only file names are displayed in Logical View, while if this option is unchecked, paths to files are also displayed.

Save groups in ASCII format

If this option is set, the User-Defined Project Manager groups will be saved in ASCII format, otherwise in binary format.

Show / Hide Groups

By this group of options you can adjust Default group display in the window of Logical View. By setting this option you define the display of the corresponding group. Otherwise, the group is not displayed in Logical View. With the Default (types) group, you can configure the display of its subgroups:
