Editions and Licensing

Classic Edition

DA-C supports a large number of different development tools - compilers, assemblers, debuggers. That is why it is necessary to set all tools, so that DA-C can give its maximum. The Classic Edition offers the complete range of functionalities, but do to its general nature is not adjusted for any special tool. Classic Edition spans three categories:

    • Classic 8 - supports only 8-Bit Microcontroller ANSI C dialects
    • Classic 8/16 - supports only 8-Bit and 16-Bit Microcontroller ANSI C dialects
    • Classic Unlimited - supports all supported Microcontroller ANSI C dialects

Reader Edition
The Reader Edition is interesting for those who would like to not give up their environment, but would also like to use the power of DA-C functionalities on their project. In the Reader Edition DA-C has full functionality, with one limitation-writing is disabled in Editor, making DA-C useful for researching and analyzing projects. As with the Classic Edition, the Reader Edition also has three categories:

    • Reader 8 - supports only 8-Bit Microcontroller ANSI C dialects
    • Reader 8/16 - supports only 8-Bit and 16-Bit Microcontroller ANSI C dialects
    • Reader Unlimited - supports all supported Microcontroller ANSI C dialects

Special editions
In association with development tool manufacturers, RistanCASE publishes special DA-C editions with pre-configured tools, limited support (by leaving out the competitors), special plugins and setup procedure.

Licensing DA-C is based on the FLEXlm library of the Globetrotter company. It falls into three groups.

Network Floating
On one computer on the network, in most cases on the file server, you install the so-called License Manager. This manager allows the maximal licensed number of DA-C instances to be used on the network. The license is bound to the network card of this computer.

Node Locked
The license is bound to the network card of the computer and can be used only on this computer.

Dongle Locked
The license is bound to the Hardware key, so-called dongle. DA-C supports Gemalto dongles. It is also possible to license DA-C on Flexera FLEXid's (for example, if you already have this dongle of your compiler). We delivery only USB dongles.
